Here I share a professional secret - how to remove the cigarette lighter in a beautiful home. We will need several sheets of white paper and a digital camera.
First you need to create a sheet of white paper softbox to avoid unwanted reflections in the polished granite lighters, as well as to provide uniform distribution of light within. Ideally, all faces should reflect a white sheet, then the photo will surface is smooth and even, without further reflection.
You can use any light, natural light from the window to a table lamp. Lighter - the subject is small, and a softbox will provide even illumination. I use an ordinary desk lamp, illuminating the object from the top front.
Would be the best SLR camera, but good results can be achieved and compact. The main thing - to push the zoom lens to the maximum to avoid the trapezoidal distortion. Compact camera, set against the lighter, will give good results in macro terms of quality, but the shape of the object is strongly distorted, as in the figure on the right example. This is bad, because Zippo in life is not a trapezoid. So - zoom to the maximum, as the camera set back from the subject, but so that the lighter took the frame.
Still - it is important to set the white balance on the camera, so that the output does not get a picture with a strong yellow or blue tint. If the camera supports only selects a preset setting, select the balance for natural light, incandescent or fluorescent lamps according to your lighting fittings. At SLR I always put the white balance on the model: first photograph plain white sheet of paper with my light, and then tells the camera that the balance should be put on the picture. As a result, the white in the picture will always be white, not yellow or blue.
And finally - when shooting aperture should be as covered, and the camera should preferably be on a stand or table, as the shutter can get long.
The result obtained with all these tricks, usually requires only the most minimal finishing in Photoshop (cropping, levels, light white balance correction). It looks a million :)
