Elvis Presley Zippo: full history 1978-2008

This article is published in Russian for the first time. This original study my English friend and collector of Gary Gilmore (Gary Gilmore), which was started by them a few years ago and was completed in 2009 specifically for ZippoCollector.ru.

This directory is divided into several parts. First, go lighter, issued only for the U.S. market. Separately, will be told about Zippo, released in Germany, Japan, France and Spain. Also, I will show pictures that were used in the design of cigarette lighters in different years on Elvis.

Dating lighters made in accordance with the official catalog and partly checked against the lighters from my personal collection. Also used information from books about Zippo, as well as help from other collectors of my friends and fans of Elvis.

Each lighter is accompanied by my personal rating of rarity: 1 star for the regular production model to 5 stars for the most rare specimens.

Zippo Elvis Presley, issued for the U.S. market

For the first time an image of Elvis Presley Zippo lighter to appear in 1978. However, the first official release was carried out only in 1987. All that was before - a very rare prototypes.

Zippo Elvis Presley for the German market, 1999-2007

Zippo Elvis Presley for the Japanese market, 2004-2005

In Japan, 12% of the population are fans of Elvis Presley (according to official statistics). This is more than 15 million people. One of the most famous of them - Junichiro Koizumi, former Prime Minister of Japan.

The first Zippo to the Japanese market, dedicated to Elvis, was released in 2004.
