Wind Master "Remembrance", Brown & Bigelow

More Wind Master'y.

The company Brown & Bigelow of St. Paul, Minnesota, was founded in 1896 by Herbert Bigelow (Herbert Huse Bigelow) and Hirmom Brown (Hirm Brown). Produced consumer goods advertising (watches, pens, ashtrays, calendars, etc.) and bears the logos. Or just products under its own brand.

Brown & Bigelow is also engaged in publishing and printed works of various artists. In the late 40's was the largest publisher of calendars in the world. Including a calendar in the style of pin-up . / source /

Such is the brutal lighter. Such a massive windscreen there is probably more than no other fliptopa. The wheel is also original, which is what the emphasis manufacturer in the instructions: "Exclusive Fire Action". While the wheel is a wheel, round and with a notch :) Another interesting feature of the Wind Wizard - the cover is attached to an insert, not to the body, which is just a single part. Very similar to Bowers .
In the raised position, the cover rises by 90 degrees.

The lid opens very tight (can not develop: a lighter-60s) - no clicks or when opening or when at the close. Packing inserts - felt folded in half. Asbestos wick with a fiberglass base. The front and rear surface of the body - covering both zippovskoe Brushed, sides and bottom - smooth. Advertising is engraved, and a very thin (like a laser) and deep enough.

Interestingly, the iBee this item has been photographed like this: box lying next to the cigarette lighter. And came sealing, shrink-wrap. The seller before sending zapechalal lighter. In time, the smell of boxes - old magazines with a loft like that :) In the inserts, the cover plate, there was a thick layer of gray dust - flint half collapsed on the time and spill out of the tube. The residue had to beat an awl.

oh thank you, a brilliant review! :)

the photographs is covering the body looks like new! windscreen a killer, although if you look at the same Bowers, they have it not too small! :) And of course, the wheel!'s Just can not figure out is an optical illusion or is it a really wide?, If it really is broad, can not knowingly accentuate attention on it!

Well, such a question, what is the approximate price for them? question, of course, a relative! has in mind, if the approximate price can be called ...

Thank you :)

The wheel is really wide, these wheels was no one else. Therefore, the emphasis is put on it is correct, except that loudly called. But it :) and advertising. This copy has managed in 15 amdollov delivery. To zero, lighters sealed in the box and the instruction - not expensive :)

Badsome unit. :-) At Bowers and really cool looks like those, perhaps, form poizyaschnee. Vyshtampovki on the cover of a pin - a useful feature, Zippe they sometimes lack. :-) A blotch on the edge of the lid, the hinge side - at the coating is not Kotz in the open position of the insert? Wheel and really interesting, and with the side "pancakes" with a notch under the thumb, as in today's disposable, except that here a few lost their meaning, because they are not a diameter larger than the Kresalo and, it turns out, it is still his finger matzo ... By the way, insert - stamping or casting so fat?

Oh, and wanted to ask if you are certainly not purely "on the shelf" purchase them - as in the real world "field" conditions such brutal windscreen works over Zippovskoy?

All in all - congratulations on your purchase! The price tag is also very good. :-)

Sincerely yours, Merqury ...

The unit with a strong personality :) blotch on the edge of the cover - perhaps part of the pressure system. There's not really discern hidden behind this massive windscreen. But the fact is that in the open position, this is the blotches for the insert. Insert - stamping, casting no. Metal of some kind.

This will go on the shelf Wind Master, sorry to break trade dress :) Wind Wizards are not very rare and not very expensive, just with the box and instructions are not very common. As the lights - I can not say, unfortunately, that ran on. STE to someone Kurehin :)

PS Brown & Bigelow has patented and other petrol lighters. Elevator-like arm was. There was also a massive gas, which is inserted inside the gas bottle with gas after those that now come with CO2 gas pistols. The cans - put in another.

A few days ago here this Scripto VU-lighter with a coin inside, and a full set of   was sold for a very cheap :) 2 times more expensive than the cost would be the same scripts without coins. 2 minutes before the end of the trading price was something like 90-one with the tail.

Table Lighter Evans (like), the body of perspex (like). The 60 years (like).
On the lighter there are no signs, only on the fuel tube - "Evans fuel".
Lighter is on the shelf with the other Benzinka, but it was for her constantly clings to look. Oh, how they get there pushing objects - I do not know, but obviously did it with love, lighter body - a small masterpiece. In addition to the fish seen yet different colors, lobster and even a set of model aircraft "Revell" - airplane and a box.
Case filling was interesting: under the cap - wool, and then sawdust. Wick was not. Spark lighter cuts that bad.

About Lucite: commercial name of polymethyl methacrylate, a polymer synthesized by chemists from DuPont in 1928. In 1933, the company Rohm & Haas has established commercial production of plastic under the brand name "Plexiglas» (Plexiglas). Lucite - extremely strong and durable material, moreover, it is not subject to corrosion, which causes the ink Wednesday. For these reasons the Parker Pen Company in 1941 began producing the body of Lucite handles Parker 51. Lucite was used until the early fifties until it gradually supplanted the new impact-resistant plastic - polystyrene, which is used in the manufacture of pens and enclosures today.

Jura! Thank you very much for your review and photos of gorgeous! I have several questions came to you as a holder of the lighters: as holding fuel (probably you have time he borrowed it before it went on the shelf)? general principle on which is arranged? it is not gas? and how much cost about those? What is rare?

Arthur, thank you! I wish you and (I suggest the "you") to thank for the wonderful article about Zippo! Historical excavations, and writing articles - work very hard :)

He borrowed it I could not - alas, there was no wick. He pulled out one of the former owners. It lighter gasoline: wick, flint wheel. It is true she has her own system, not like the others. And the interesting thing is that apparently did not see a single screw for disassembly. But she understands. Whether that risk so clean ... I think that Evans vigorous ignition - large lever arm stroke button. But only after a sea trial. I am sure that Comrade. Hartman tells more about Evans :)

Evans is not so rare. Lucite desktop Evans much, they will only differ from this hull form and color. With regards to the rarity of this particular lighters - as table Evans of perspex - it is not rare. As it is with a fish - maybe :) Maybe we assume that the master, in the production of fish, each time I receive a different composition. Then it is this valuable fish, or something :) My little experience in monitoring vintage Lightyear Network has shown that some of IGN. And the fish I saw one time: this :)

This Evans was worth something in the region of $ 12 dollars and igniting 6 shipment. But only in the States.

A bit of a budget Dunhill Aquarium, one version of which is different from the previous one, because it was made by hand. And the price of aquariums ogogo .... Here nesk days ago one broke out:

Thank you, Yuri! Very good to hear! I try as best I can! :)

In general, something extremely interesting and beautiful, plus great photos even enchant! I think another colleague Hartman tells a little more in detail about Evans. Honestly, this is the brand I've lighters does not cling, but I saw your copy immediately became interested. Price Of course, I was very surprised. I did not expect that it will cost only $ 12. The conclusion is beautiful, interesting and attractive things do not always cost a lot of money.

Although Dunhill Aquarium, of course, is good, do not argue.
