There is nothing to boast about, waiting cherished parcel from the U.S. :) Pre strangled toad ordered a 27Z Armor Brushed Sterling Silver. It will be my first original Zippo. Why her? I like silver - precious metal, gold a little too pathetic, and can not afford me :) And Armor instills a sense of weight, strength and reliability of the product. So, three days ago I received the coveted Zippo. Thing! Now I want to share my experiences and make small eyes obzorchik beginner. Before this I had only kEtayskie crafts. Differs from the original KEtaya as heaven and earth. Lighter I loved. It has a certain charisma, which is characteristic only of the original Zippo lighters. Plastic gas lighter - it's prose, and Zippo - it's poetry! My lighter has the stamp of Armor, but the big difference in wall thickness in comparison with the standard Zippo I've seen in the store, I had not noticed. Wick lighters for some reason my long flared. Ie 1 - 2 sec. lit a small flame, which then flared up high "pillar" of the flame. This is all true or just me? Despite this flame does not go out in the wind. And if earlier with Cricket I had to stop and spin in opposite directions, hiding from the wind to light, but now I'm on the go I can light a cigarette, just cover hand, if the wind is strong. Next some pictures. Photos are so-so. I'm not a photographer, and the camera is not very good. Also a little lighter on the photo zalapannaya.            Zatar bit :)  My main hobby - small arms. So I could not resist and sfotat here such purely American still life :)

| Perhaps ask a stupid question, but why is it so expensive? Silver now because of this? Zippo 1941 replica which is similar cert not worth 20 bucks ebee maximum, I understand that the material is different. But the fact is that this silver? Precious metal for real? Why? |

People, remove the parking brake. The definition of "gold" and "silver" to the insert, it is only a slang definition of the color of the insert, as their is 2 (respectively, golden and silver). Silver insert so-called same chrome or steel. Gold may call dyeing, copper-clad, yellow, etc. And all these definitions serve only to clarify different color inserts, and not on their alloy composition. Clear pepper that all steel inserts and coatings make them under different models of lighters to match stupid design. Would look silly chrome insert in the golden lighter, right? Or vice versa, golden insert in chrome lighter ... Materials used in Zippo, this brass (body) and stainless steel (insert). And all that is on top of them, it's either paint or galvanizing (and rarely pure brass uncoated). ZY With this logic as you can and original Zippo flints golden name ... Do not forget the saying "All is not gold that glitters" and remember that in the world of metals and alloys have a bunch of metal similar in appearance and sometimes even in some respects. |
